Depending on the firmware commands supported by the drive, the Blancco SSD Erasure standard in Blancco Drive Eraser software is compliant with NIST Purge or Clear method (NIST SP 800-88 R1, Guidelines for Media Sanitization) :
• On newer SSDs supporting the Sanitize commands (required to meet the NIST Purge-level erasure), “Blancco SSD Erasure” is fully compliant with the Purge-level erasure as defined by NIST. “Blancco SSD Erasure” exceeds the NIST Purge recommendations.
• On older SSDs not supporting the Sanitize commands (but supporting older commands such as Secure Erase), “Blancco SSD Erasure” is fully compliant with the Clear-level erasure as defined by NIST and “Blancco SSD Erasure” exceeds the NIST Clear recommendations.
