Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is not fully supported. Blancco Drive Eraser= / Blancco 5 can boot on this tablet, unfortunately this tablet puts a free= ze lock on the SSD, such lock cannot be removed and prevents any firmware-b= ased erasure command from being executed (they always fail). Therefore the = tablet cannot be erased with the "Blancco SSD Erasure" standard.
We have investigated this issue extensively to no avail. The problem= lies on the tablet itself and cannot be worked around.
Nevertheless, any standard that simply overwrites the SSD (e.g. =E2= =80=9CAperiodic Random Overwrite=E2=80=9D, HMG & DoD standards) will wo= rk on this device.
Erasing this tablet with e.g. =E2=80=9CAperiodic Random Overwrite=E2= =80=9D standard (or HMG or DoD) and setting a 100% verification will exceed= the NIST recommendations to achieve a "clear-level" security (preventing k= eyboard-level attacks i.e. attempts to retrieve information using a data re= covery software).
Regarding x86 tablets, note the following:
