If Find My iPhone status cannot be detected (in above cases), it is not shown at all.

The status of Find My iPhone can also be checked from Apple iCloud using the 'Check IMEI' functionality in device info window. This approach works always as long as device IMEI or serial are available. The IMEI/serial is automatically copied and can be pasted to iCloud window with Ctrl+V.
