Blancco File Eraser 8.1 - Release notes

Features/Improvements:

  • Common criteria.
    • File Eraser 8.1 will be the version the common criteria certification will be based on. The process is started and is scheduled to be completed in November 2017.
  • Recycle bin.
    • Much faster startup when having many files in the recycle bin. Also, the recycle bin dialog itself is much faster and better user experience.
  • Error messages in report.
    • If any issue occurs during the operation, a human understandable error description will be added to the normal report. This helps with debugging and providing a better understanding to the user.
  • Improved Windows 10 support.
    • Correct Windows version will be shown in the report and Windows will identify the program as a software than support Windows 10.
  • GPO files.
    • The GPO files are updated.

Bug fixes:

  • Right-click menu.
    • Shell extensions for file erasure works again.
  • UI fixes.
    • Minor fixes to UI and user experience after the rebranding release 8.0.
