Problem

Client machines are unable to PXE boot version 7.12.0 of the Drive Eraser software, the error seen references the following files being missing "initramfs-bde-linux.img" & "initramfs-bde-linux-fallback.img".

When configuring the PXE boot using our iPXE boot instructions these files should be located, within the following folder - C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ISO_images\:FolderName:\arch\boot\x86_64

Cause

The cause of this has been found to be older versions of the "Security Intelligence" within Windows Defender, with older versions, Windows Defender is detecting the highlighted files as - Detected: Trojan:Linux/Multiverze

Please note that these files are not malware and this is a false detection within Windows Defender.

Resolution

Please access "Virus & threat protection updates" within Windows and ensure this is on the latest version, at the time of the creation of this Knowledgebase Article, version 1.415.424.0 is known to resolve this issue, with Windows Defender no longer detecting the files as malware and quarantining the files.

If updating the "Security Intelligence" to version 1.415.424.0 or newer does not help resolve the issue, please raise a technical support ticket via the "report an incident" button found on the below website
