Blancco File Eraser 8.1 - Release notes  


**Features/Improvements:**

- Common criteria.
  - File Eraser 8.1 will be the version the common criteria certification will be based on. The process is started and is scheduled to be completed in November 2017.
- Recycle bin.
  - Much faster startup when having many files in the recycle bin. Also, the recycle bin dialog itself is much faster and better user experience.
- Error messages in report.
  - If any issue occurs during the operation, a human understandable error description will be added to the normal report. This helps with debugging and providing a better understanding to the user.
- Improved Windows 10 support.
  - Correct Windows version will be shown in the report and Windows will identify the program as a software than support Windows 10.
- GPO files.
  - The GPO files are updated.

**Bug fixes:**

- Right-click menu.
  - Shell extensions for file erasure works again.
- UI fixes.
  - Minor fixes to UI and user experience after the rebranding release 8.0.
