Starting with version バージョン5.10.3, if the hard drive is locked with a hard drive password, it can be still erased, but the user must provide the correct password upon booting the machine.

Note that password locked drives can be only erased with erasure standards containing traditional overwriting rounds (such as Aperiodic random overwrite). The password protection prevents executing any firmware based commands onto the drive. If it is required to have purge-level erasure result, the password protection must be removed from the BIOS/UEFI settings.

以降、ハードドライブがハードドライブパスワードでロックされていても、消去することは可能です。しかし、マシンの起動時には正しいパスワードを入力する必要があります。

パスワードロックされたドライブは、 Aperiodic random overwriteのような、従来の上書きラウンドだけの消去規格でしか消去ができないことに注意してください。なぜならパスワード保護はすべてのファームウェアベースのコマンドの実行を妨げるからです。ファームウェアベースのコマンドを必要とするPurgeレベルの消去を行うためには、あらかじめパスワード保護をBIOS/UEFI設定で解除する必要があります。

ドライブがパスワード保護されている場合には、Drive Eraserユーザーインターフェースの詳細表示で、ドライブの詳細の下に赤いパスワードのアイコンが表示されます。If the drive is password protected, there will be a red password icon displayed under the drive details in Drive Eraser user interface when in Advanced-view.
