What is happening?

Blancco will be phasing out SSLv3 technology in favor of the more secure TLS.

Read the Blancco Management version 4.1 release notes for more details about this.

Why are we making this change?

SSLv3 is an outdated, vulnerable and now highly targeted security protocol.

How might customers be impacted?

Any customers running certain legacy products, with the Management Console - Cloud, will be impacted:

  • Blancco 4
  • Blancco 5 prior to version 5.6.1

Once the SSLv3 is dropped from the Blancco Cloud, any erasure client that uses SSLv3 to communicate with the Cloud won’t be able to consume licenses (from the Cloud) or send reports (to the Cloud) anymore.
