File Eraser for Windows 8.2 - Release notes

  • File Eraser 8.2 is Common Criteria certified.
    • Common criteria is the world most recognized certification.
  • Product name changes.
    • Blancco File Eraser have previously had two different editions. PC and Server. PC Edition is now called Home Edition. Server Edition is now called Datacenter Edition.
    • A new edition is added called Enterprise Edition. Enterprise Edition is enabling enterprises to schedule and integrate file erasure on their laptops, workstations and servers.
  • New erasure algorithm: NIST Clear.
    • Added support for NIST Clear erasure algorithm.
  • Improved Windows 10 support.
    • Correct Windows version will be shown in the report and Windows identification has been improved.
  • Disable reporting.
    • If needed, all reporting can be completely disabled with registry settings.
  • Automatic update improvements.
    • Automatic update now works also for Blancco File Eraser with MC support.
  • Fix for an issue where recycle bin erasure didn’t work as it should with Windows 10 Creators Edition.
