In some cases, it is possible that the built-in Network Interface Card (Ethernet or Wireless network adapter) of a machine, isn’t supported by the Blancco Drive Eraser software.

The most common reason for this is that the Blancco Drive Eraser Kernel doesn't contain the required driver* to correctly support the NIC or the driver which is being used is a generic driver and does not adequately support the NIC. As a result, the NIC is either not detected or detected but not working.

In the case of an unsupported Network Adapter, we recommend the use of a USB-to-NIC adapter (Ethernet or Wireless) as a workaround.

Following USB Ethernet Adapters has been tested with Blancco Drive Eraser.

TRENDnet TU2-ET100 - Ethernet Adapter
Belkin / F5D5055 Gigabit USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter
A-LINK / NA1GU Gigabit USB 2.0 Ethernet Adapter
Startech.com USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter USB31000S

*Some drivers are closed source and can’t be included into the Drive Eraser software.
