  • Microsoft Surface Pro 1 is supported (since Blancco Driver Eraser / Blancco 5.4.0). Blancco Driver Eraser / Blancco 5 can boot, unlock and erase this tablet with the "Blancco SSD Erasure" standard.
  • Microsoft Surface Pro 2 is also supported. Blancco Driver Eraser / Blancco 5 can boot, unlock and erase this tablet with the "Blancco SSD Erasure" standard.
  • Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is not fully supported. Blancco Driver Eraser / Blancco 5 can boot on this tablet, but unfortunately, for the time being, the SSD cannot be unlocked thus it cannot be erased with the "Blancco SSD Erasure" standard. Nevertheless, any standard that simply overwrites the SSD (e.g. HMG, DoD) will work on this device, providing at least a "clear-level" security (preventing keyboard-level attacks: e.g. attempts to retrieve information using a data recovery software).
    • Blancco is currently investigating this issue.

Regarding x86 tablets, note the following:

  • Many x86 tablets contain eMMC drives and for those drives only "clear-level" erasure is supported.

  4. The device should reboot into a blue "Choose an Option" screen
  5. Select "Troubleshoot" -> "Advanced Options" -> "UEFI Firmware Settings" -> "Restart".
  6. UEFI firmware setup screen should show up. Make sure that "Secure boot control" is disabled and save the settings.
