File Eraser for Windows version 8.5 - Release notes

Features:

  • Separated license IDs for BMC activation.

    • Blancco File Eraser - Home Edition: 27

    • Blancco File Eraser - Data Center Edition: 28

    • Blancco File Eraser - Enterprise Edition: 44 

  • Windows Server 2016 and 2019 support.

  • Activate MC license without UI interaction.

    • Added a /activate command for license activation 

  • License file for offline licensing.

    • This removes the need for new custom installers for offline packages.

  • Smaller installer package.

    • Optional smaller package with limited features.

  • Update dialog is now disabled by default.

    • To enable update dialog, please change the HideUpdate registry value 

Bug fixes:

  • LEE-2071 - Folder selection issue.

    • Folders can now be selected again from the UI 

  • LEE-2875 - Restricting the report content.

    • Reactivated the registry options to restrict the report content 

  • LEE-3138 - .aaa file left in network folder.

    • Fixed a rare issue with a shadow file being left after erasure in network folders. 

  • LEE-3159 - Loglevel target issues.

    • Fixed loglevel command issues 

  • LEE-3485 - MC license activation hangs.

    • This was happening when a non admin user attempted to activate the license.
