Mobile Diagnostics and Erasure 4.9.0 - Release notes

IMPORTANT NOTE! This version of BMDE is required to process devices running iOS 15 firmware. Older versions of BMDE will not work with iOS 15.


Features:

  • PHEN-6783 - Multiple User Defined Conditional States.
    • New workflow component which allows for one input but many output variables making it easier when designing complex workflows
  • PHEN-7207 - Seamless and Trust Action Free Transition between Stations. 
    • Once a connected iOS device is “trusted” any client machine connected to one sync server can now remember that the device has already been trusted. This reduces operator time by eliminating unnecessary steps.
  • PHEN-6588 - Show Number of Connected Devices on the BMDE UI.
    • New visual indicator available which helps operators easily monitor total number of connected devices and process status
  • PHEN-5062 - NIST-Clear Standard.
    • NIST-Clear erasure standard is now available for iOS and Android.
  • PHEN-7168 - Storing Reports Across Profiles.
    • Reports are now stored so that the user who created them can be identified, and users can only send their own reports.

    • Location services can now be activated along the iOS set-up process reducing operator touches.
  • PHEN-7253 - Add Client Hostname under BMDE Sharing.
    • For sync server, under BMDE sharing, hostname is now available for client update poling making it easier to differentiate between client ,machines.
  • PHEN-6656 - Bookmarking Keyboard Shortcut Added: “Ctrl+D”.
  • PHEN-6785 - Ability to Hide Device Component Field from the Report.
    • Option to hide component field now available.
  • PHEN-6921 - Multi-Camera Test Results Accessible over Workflow Variables (“Latest” version diagnostics application)
  • SD-4589 - Diagnostics Training Mode (“Latest” version).
    • New mode available which provides explanation of the upcoming test which displays on a separate screen to assist in training new operators
  • SD-4590 - Show Reason for the Test Result on Report Page (“Latest” version).
    • This can be shown by performing a “long press” on the test name on the report page
  • SD-4690 - Microphone Test Improvement (“Latest” version)
  • SD-4695 - Fingerprint Test (Latest” version).
    • Option is now available for partial enrollment to complete the fingerprint test.

  • PHEN-7172 - Huawei MediaPad T3 7 erasure fails.

Known Issues:

  • Update to BMDE 4.9 version is required to erase/process iPhones running iOS 15 firmware.
  • With older Apple models that update only to iOS 9.3.5 (iPhone 4S, iPad 3 etc.) Diagnostics "Legacy" 3.9.8.1 version should be used as "Latest" 4.3 Diagnostics version does not work with those devices. (Note! 4.3 version does not yet support Volume key test for devices having iOS 15)
  • iOS device indicator option is not working as expected if device with active screen is hoovered over during a process question. Device UI starts blinking and does not stop.
  • If USB stick is removed from BMDE by clicking the "Safely remove your USB storage" indicator from the Status bar while in erasure view, the USB stick might not be recognized properly if it's reconnected later. Re-login fixes the issue.
  • With Android 7 OS or Android 8 OS devices WiFi profile that was setup using a process can be uninstalled but WiFi config is not removed.
  • Send report workflow component send & clear options do not work as expected. Report is sent as report is found from BMC but in BMDE Reports view report is shown as unsent /not cleared after flow is run.
  • Erasure of iPhone X in DFU mode might fail due unexpected disconnect of the device.
  • There was issue found with iOS version info where device holding iOS 14.8 version updated to iOS 15 during erasure but the device info in BMDE (device card and report) was still shown iOS 14.8.Correct version was shown when device was reconnected.
  • “Latest” Application 4.3:
    • IOS 15 update has an issue where Volume key test does not work as expected. This will be fixed in next release.
    • AGPS test is getting failed on Realme C2(9).
    • UI needs to be changed in Training mode. There is a “Looks Good" label is getting displayed for "Temperature" test.
    • "Remove fingerprint popup" is not getting displayed after performed fingerprint test in training mode.
    • UI change in Android "Facial Recognition " name is showing for Face ID test on not supported and removal popup.
    • Preview for captured images is not getting displayed for multicamera test on Redmi Note 10 pro.
