What information is hosted in the Cloud?

There are two uses for the Blancco Cloud, Reporting and Licenses.  Both will need to me migrated from the Old Cloud over to the New Cloud.  There may be reports that you wish not to migrate because they are not in use or relevant.  We should not bother migrating those reports over.

Migration Steps

  1. Let your Account Manager know when you are ready to start the migration from www.blanccocloud.com to www.cloud.blancco.com service.
  2. Your Account Manager will review your current installation and migration needs
  3. Blancco will send you a New Cloud account to manage your purchased licenses and reports.   At this time, we recommend you create/invite more of your users to your group.
  4. Once you have set up the accounts on the New Cloud, we will move your current licenses from the Old to the New Cloud.

Where can I find the product manual for the New Cloud?

Reports

Do you have reports in www.blanccocloud.com service?

If yes and you would like to transfer the reports to cloud.blancco.com, please export reports to all.xml file from the old blanccocloud service by pressing “Export All XML” button. The all.xml can be imported to cloud.blancco.com service afterwards. Please make sure that all reports are exported to xml format only.

Need to keep the report owner for old reports?

If Yes

  • All users have to export their own reports to all.xml file.
  • An account needs to be created for the user to cloud.blancco.com.
  • Import the reports under the correct account in cloud.blancco.com.

If No

Report Size Limitation - Let Support know if the all.xml file size is bigger than 10MB as that is the size limit and will need to be broken down to smaller size files.

HASP keys

Are you using  www.blanccocloud.com for downloading licenses for HASP keys?

If yes

  •  How many HASP keys do you have?
  •  Where are the HASP keys are located?
  • Are all HASP keys in use and working?
Please reply with all HASP ID’s?

HASP keys must to be migrated to LDK licensing in order to download and activate licenses for them from cloud.blancco.com service.

For the HASP key Migration please contact support in that matter and follow the instructions from the HASP key migration part. HASP keys should be migrated about the same time to avoid confusion if the HASP key is migrated or not.

HASP HL 1.X migration to LDK-licensing

This document contains instructions migrating HASP HL 1.X licenses to the new LDK-based licensing. New Sentinel LDK-based licensing model allows you to download licenses directly from cloud.blancco.com service to your physical HASP key(s). Migration is also reducing product delivery times when more licenses is needed and much more.

To migrate your existing HASP keys, proceed with the following instructions. If you have any questions regarding to the process or preparations, do not hesitate to contact our technical support team before migration (support.blancco.com). When contacting support for the first time regarding to migration please add information of used product versions and HASP key IDs in a ticket to speed up the process.

Preparations and requirements

Ensure that your Blancco environment is been updated to the latest versions of Blancco Products.  Minimum version requirements for the migration process are:

  • Management Console Environment: Blancco Management Console 3.6.1 or newer (BMC 4.1.0 or newer required for NVMe (high end) Erasure).
  • Standalone HASP environment; Blancco Drive Eraser / Blancco 5 version 5.9.0 or newer). Note: after migration any older version is not supported anymore by using local HASP key.
  • Physical access to all HASP keys in your organization. All HASP keys should be migrated to new licensing at once
  • Make sure Sentinel LDK License Manager service is running and you can see HASPs properly in http://localhost:1947
  • Notification for Blancco LUN and Blancco Flash users:
    • If you're using LUN or Flash with local HASP key, migration should not be done. These products do not support local HASP key with LDK licensing at the moment.
    • If you're using LUN or Flash with licensing on BMC / Cloud licensing, migration can be done as instructed.
