Alle Android-Geräte ab Android Version 5.1 haben eine neue Sicherheitsfunktion: Geräteschutz oder Factory Reset Protection (FRP). Der Geräteschutz/Factory Reset Protection (FRP) wird automatisch aktiviert, wenn ein Nutzer für das Gerät ein Google-Konto einrichtet ist. Die Funktion soll das Telefon vor unbefugtem Zugriff (Verlust oder Diebstahl des Telefons) schützen und verhindert die Nutzung des Geräts nach einem Werksreset, bis die entsprechenden Anmeldedaten für das Google-Konto vorliegen.
Wenn der Geräteschutz aktiviert ist, ist es nicht möglich, auf das Gerät zuzugreifen, und daher ist es nicht möglich, das Gerät mit Blancco Mobile Diagnostics and Erasure zu löschen. Das Gerät kann durch Angabe der Google-Konto-Anmeldedaten des Vorbesitzers entsperrt werden.
Immer wenn ein solches Konto auf einem angeschlossenen Gerät erkannt wird, informiert die Blancco Mobile Diagnose- und Löschsoftware den Benutzer, die Konten zu entfernen (siehe untenstehender Screenshot als Referenz), um mit der Verarbeitung des Geräts fortzufahren.
All devices starting from Android 5.1 have a new security feature: device protection a.k.a. factory reset protection a.k.a "kill switch". It is meant to protect the phone from unauthorized access (phone lost or stolen). Device protection is enabled by setting screen lock and creating a Google account in the device.
If device protection is enabled, it will be not be possible to access the device, and thus it will not be possible to erase the device with Blancco 5 Mobile. Device can by unlocked by providing the Google account credentials of the previous owner.
