Virtual machine name is visible in vCenter and it has orphaned status after erasure.

Problem

After erasing a virtual machine with the Blancco Virtual Machine eraser (On Demand) software, The erased virtual machine name still exists within vCenter on the ESXi Host and the erased virtual machine has an orphaned status.

Cause

Blancco Virtual Machine Eraser (On Demand) only communicates with the ESXi server and the virtual machine is removed from the ESXi host only.

Solution

Blancco Virtual Machine Eraser (On Demand) doesn't communicate with the vCenter server from the ESXi host. Due to this, the erased virtual machine with an orphaned status in vCenter has to be removed manually.

Blancco also provides an integration package for the Blancco Virtual Machine eraser vCenter software.
